Started in 2006, the
PALS program began in
our summer program
as a leadership camp
for middle school
students. PALS itself
stands for Participants
Achieving Leadership
Skills. Participants in
PALS were given the
opportunity to not only
develop leadership
skills, but also to
develop their self-esteem, confidence, social skills, and problem solving skills in a
safe nurturing environment with positive drug-free peers.
The Summer PALS had such success, that
during the school year, the PALS program
evolved into including year round programs
that focuses on giving a fun structured
environment for Middle School and early
High School students to experience
positive alternatives to substance use.
These once monthly activities help kids
continue their connections with
positive drug-free peers and
promotes a healthy active lifestyle.
Outings have included: Magic
Waters, Overnight Camp Out, Ski
Trip, Bowling, Lock-In, and several
trips to Chicago. The PALS program
continues to experience success with
over 80 middle school students
involved in our year round and
summer programming!!!
