What is the Summer '08 Program?
|
The Summer ’08 Program is designed to give participants an opportunity to learn valuable life lessons. The program creates a safe environment where youth can make new friends, try new things, and have lots of fun! Children will also be able to participate in small groups, open hour activities (games, crafts, outdoor play/sports), and go on field trips.
|
The program is divided into two sessions with a one-week break between the sessions. The first session is three weeks running Monday through Friday. The second session is four weeks running Monday through Thursday. All programming days are from 10:00am to 3:00pm.
|
During the program your child will work closely in a small group with children his/her own age. These groups provide an opportunity for your child to learn about different topics and ask questions, in an age appropriate setting.
|
Small Groups for children entering grades 1-5:
These groups are for elementary aged participants and will emphasize the importance of having good character, making healthy choices, teamwork and building lasting friendships.
|
Small Groups for children entering grades 6-9:
Transportation to and from the McHenry Township Recreation Building is not
provided. Participants are required to bring their own sack lunch with a
beverage each day, unless otherwise stated.
Participants must be entering grades 1-9 in the 2008/2009 school year.
The program is open to youth who are eligible to attend School Districts 12,
15, or 156, or who live in McHenry Township, the City of McHenry, or the
Village of Johnsburg.
